Reflection Paper On Bullying - 1223 Words

A few weeks ago, I witnessed an incident that sickened me to the core. There was a student in my math class, let us refer to him as John, who is not the most popular guy in school, John is a student that would be categorized as â€Å"different† from the mainstream teenager. But why? Maybe it’s his height? His interests? His clothes? His friends? The way he speaks? The way he acts? The way he walks? The way he breathes? The logic behind this lingers a mystery. But, what is not hidden is the silent facial expressions painting the room, the hushed chuckles among students, the dramatic sighs, or the muffled words like â€Å"faggot,† and â€Å"retard,† that latch on to targeted students as soon as they walk into school. These students may cheer, crowd around, or encourage the bully. The passive supporter are those who also support the bully but do not openly express it. Then there is the disengaged onlooker, the student who turns a cold shoulder to the situation telling themselves, ‘itâ₠¬â„¢s none of my business, I shouldn’t get involved’. Then there is the possible defender, the students who dislike the bullying and ponder acting, but don’t. Then there is the defender, the one who dislikes the bullying and acts to help the victim. Then there is the victim, the target of all theShow MoreRelatedThe Punishment Is The Third Leading Cause Of Death For Young Adults Essay1333 Words   |  6 Pagesbully and involving the guardians, is one way that could put a stop to bullying.
